The Pragmatic Lab

By Sidwyn Koh

NUSHSCollegeTalk would like to thank our guest contributor Sidwyn for writing about his passion and showing us how to turn it into reality. It's not often that we meet young entrepreneurs like him, and we're always glad to feature different aspects of college life here at NUSHSCollegeTalk. Sidwyn runs The Pragmatic Lab. He writes his thoughts on a blog and makes iPhone apps for US startups (Roomorama/Chumby/Seesmic). Check out his portfolio here

UPDATE: Sidwyn has informed us that he is also offering 20% off for any other course.

Hey CollegeTalk readers!

It has been six months since my last post and I'm really excited to share with you some great news.

I was recently thinking how I could make use of my time in NS and not rot instead. I realized I had knowledge of making iPhone/iPad apps that I could impart to others, and so I registered a website, filled it with images and content, and created a company called The Pragmatic Lab.About a year ago, I advised CollegeTalk readers to follow their passion. Having entered the working world, I see many frustrated people who take up jobs just because of the 'high' pay. Translating your passion into a career is certainly not easy, but the rewards are bountiful. Waking up everyday and knowing you are going to do what you love will excite you. And that is important. Make sure you know what you want in life. Not your parents.

There is an upcoming iPhone app development course during the September holidays and it will be subsidized for NUSHS students at only $800 for a three day workshop (usual price $1200). To register now (very limited slots), head over here: http://pragmaticlab.com/courses/ and present your NUSHS matriculation card. For CollegeTalk readers that are not NUSHS students, don't worry! Just email sidwyn@pragmaticlab.com and we'll work something out :)

Best Regards,

Sidwyn
